Böylece hem araştırıcı hem de araştırma sayısında önemli artışlar oldu. Dergimiz, bu kaynaktan güçlü biçimde yararlanarak, tarihin daha ayrıntılı konularında yapılan çalışmaların yayınlandığı bir yayın organı durumuna geldi. Bu özelliği onu, benzerlerinden farklı kılan en önemli boyuttu.

Our journal has mainly featured the articles on the political, social, economic, and cultural transformation processes witnessed in Turkey during the last fifty years, and has also put the research results forth. Within this scope, we tried to assess the general historical events from micro-scale perspective as much as possible. Therefore, a substantial increase in both the number of researchers and studies has been noted. Our journal efficiently benefited from such resources and has consequently become a means of publication that features the studies executed on more elaborate historical issues.
This feature is the most prominent attribute of our journal that makes it different from its counterparts. The difference lies behind the fact that Western Anatolia, the region including İzmir, has been an important scene for fundamental changes during the last 3 years. The impacts of massive transformation and change efforts have been immensely perceived across the region. Accordingly, this characteristic of the region provided various facilities to the historians studying in İzmir.
Our journal will follow up the studies in this aspect.
